Michael B. Petersen
President & CEOStarted in the long-term care and retirement industry Ontario in 1990. His experience centered on the development, operation and redevelopment of long-term care facilities and adult based residential communities. In the 1990’s Michael led the Management Services Division at Versa-Care Ltd that focused on providing management services to various profit and not for profit long term care facilities. In 1998 Michael became President of Leacock Point Development Corporation, a development company building independent senior living condominiums. In 2011, as President of Southbridge Capital Inc., he and the Southbridge team created and launched Southbridge Health Care LP, a limited partnership that acquires and operates seniors living residences, including long term care, assisted and independent living facilities. In 3 years, Southbridge Health Care LP raised $50 MM in equity and accumulate over of $135 MM in assets, a portfolio that included 19 long term care homes, 4 assisted and independent living facilities, 2,235 beds and over 2,300 employees.
Senior Vice President of OperationsJim is a veteran in the investment industry with over 30 years experience in financial services. He has held Senior Executive roles in alternative investing, real estate, securities, mutual funds and insurance, and has designed and implemented national distribution strategies, raising multi billions of dollars through asset growth, acquisition and key corporate partnerships for large financial corporations. Jim also sits on key advisory boards and industry related association. He studied Economics and Commerce at the University of Toronto.
Nicole Ballestrin has over 15 years of experience at small to large global organizations, both public and private, crossing a wide range of industries including professional services, technology, retail, telecommunications and energy. Nicole partners with owners and senior leaders to drive strategic, operational and financial objectives. Companies where Nicole has made significant impact: McKinsey & Company Canada, EY, Sears Canada, Nortel Networks, Ceryx, Pricemetrix, McMillan LLP and SkyPower Global. Nicole is a CPA, CA and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto.
Mark Maxwell earned a BA in Business Administration at Trinity Western University in 1981, an MBA in Finance at Baylor University in Waco, Texas in 1984 and his CFA in 1991. Mark served as President and Director of Georgian Capital, President of Rockwell Capital and President & Director and Portfolio Manager of Tower Asset Management currently registered in Alberta, BC and Ontario Securities Commissions. He served as Chairman of Board of Southbridge Healthcare GP Inc., which focused on the acquisition and operation of long term care homes in Ontario, from 2012-2017.
Glen Bryan is currently the Associate Professor of Business at Ohio Wesleyan University. He is the owner of GrowthMatrix Inc., a strategic advising and consulting firm focused on strategic and organizational leadership development. Glenn previously served as Chairman of the Independent Investment Committee of Southbridge Health Care LP which was focused on acquiring, operating and redeveloping senior living facilities in Ontario, Canada.
